Okay, so we all have wishes and hopes and dreams, right? Well here are some of mine. "3 Random Reasons Why I REALLY Want To Go To..." is a segment on The Drifters Blog wherein I share with you one of the many places I have always wanted to explore and 3 reasons why I feel a trip there is warranted. Next up: Costa Blanca, Spain Ever since my trip to Spain a few years ago, the country has always been calling me back. With its mix of historical sites, tasty cuisine, unique architecture and intriguing cultures, there's something for everyone. While most everyone goes straight for Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia, there's more to Spain than these three cultural capitals. Costa Blanca is a stretch of land along the Mediterranean Sea that has much to offer any sunloving islander, or islander at heart. Here are just 3 random reasons why I really want to go to Costa Blanca, Spain: The Capital City of Alicante is Vibrant and Alive With its wide boulevard of palm trees and shopping streets, the City of Alicante is said to be the perfect place to start off exploring Costa Blanca. In fact, most visitors to the region fly in to this capital city and end up using it as a base. And since there are already miles and miles of white sand beaches here, I don't blame them for not wanting to look further. One of the best things I've read about this city is that it has a 'village' feel to it, which makes it a great place to enjoy cityscapes and metro life, and still be able to lay back and relax. The Touristy Spot, Benidorm, Is Still Pretty Cool Usually, whenever I read about the most touristy part of a place the first thing I want to do is run, but for Benidorm it's different. This holiday town in Costa Blanca, located about 45 km northeast of Alicante City, sounds like it has the perfect blend of beautiful beaches and lively nightlife. Although many people decide to stay in Alicante City, there is still a huge selection of accommodations in Benidorm as well. Places such as the Hotel Presidente Benidorm, for example, is a popular choice for regular Benidorm visitors. It Has The Largest Palm Grove in Europe Growing up in Hawaii, I know palm trees well. Some of my earliest memories is of watching my father climb up a coconut tree with his bare feet and hands. We also had different varieties of palm trees on the property. So it's no little surprise that one of the greatest draws for me to Costa Blanca is a place called Palmeral de Elche, recognized as being the largest palm grove in Europe. What's even more amazing about this place is that the size of this place is surpassed only by some palm groves in Arab countries, which makes it one of the largest groves in the world! And there it is, just 3 random reasons why I REALLY want to go to Costa Blanca, Spain! Of course, this is just one of the many places that are on my hot list of places I've got to see at least once, so please keep following along to see where else on my travel map has been pinned for future drifter exploration!

A city with a "village" feel, sounds like a Hawai'i but in Europe. I always did admire any European architecture on travel shows.

Benidorm is where us Europeans go when we want a cheap holiday, but you can drive more inland as well and can enjoy a Spanish way of life away from the tourists crowds as well. Have you ever watched the British TV series Benidorm? It is hilarious! You should watch it. :-)

Beautiful stretches of coastline and beaches, fantastic summers with on average 300 days of sunshine, great nightlife made the Costa Blanca a favoured tourist destination for many thousands of visitors each year. The Murcia Region is ideal for those in search of relaxation, nature, sport and good food. And for such a major city, Valencia is relatively unexplored by tourists.
